Lease Agreement Issues

The SNGS has proposed to pay Avondale/Glen Elder property owners $500.00 each year for the rights to store natural gas under their property.  Residents have complained about the marketing efforts of the SNGS in getting owners to sign the lease agreement.  More specifically, residents were concerned that SNGS solicited and obtained signed lease agreements prior to receiving the results of the Environmental Impact Report.  See the summary of leasing problems submitted to the CPUC by the Greenlining Institute here. View their testimony at the June 12, 2012 CPUC hearing regarding the signing of tenant leases prior to the release of the EIR here.   View the concerns of residents and others regarding lease agreements  here and hereView the Walking on Gas video library here.
